SOME SCHOOLS ANNOUNCE THEIR CLASS OPENING AHEAD OF THE AUGUST 24

/ 10 August 2020

SOME universities and colleges will open their classes on August 17 and will follow the synchronous and asynchronous programs.

The announcement was posted on their official Facebook pages by Far Eastern University, Emilio Aguinaldo College, University of Perpetual Help-Las Piñas and Molino, Cagayan State University, Philippine Normal University, National University, Baliwag Polytechnic College, Sta. Catalina College-Biñan and Colegio de San Juan de Letran-Bataan.

Synchronous learning is distance education wherein interaction happens in real time, while asynchronous learning occurs through online channels without real-time interaction.

Prior to these announcements, Commission on Higher Education Chairman Prospero ‘Popoy’ de Vera said on July 10 that schools were ready to open this month.

“We are ready to open this August. No ifs, no buts. Learning must continue. We learn as one, we are ready,” he said.

Other schools will start their classes on the last week of August and early September.

Numerous college students have reportedly not enrolled yet due to the pandemic and high tuition.
