/ 17 January 2022

THE SOUTHERN State University thanked its partner institutions, universities and colleges for their donations for the victims of Typhoon Odette.

SLSU said in-kind and monetary donations continue to pour for its employees, students and other members of the community affected by the typhoon.

SLSU specifically thanked the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges for its donation.

PASUC Region 8, with the Visayas State University, handed P100,000 while PASUC Region 11 handed P33,000.

Other institutions that gave donations were the Northwest Samar State University, Biliran Province State University, Polytechnic Institute of Technology, Eastern Samar State University, and the Department of Science and Technology.

“Thank you all for your generosity. This will surely support our relief drive in giving assistance to our students who are greatly affected by the wrath of Typhoon Odette,” SLSU said in a statement.

The typhoon left parts of SLSU devastated, including classrooms, laboratories, libraries and research centers.

Rehabilitation is underway for the six damaged SLSU campuses.
