/ 17 December 2021

THE SOUTHERN Luzon State University in Quezon province inked a partnership with the Commission on Higher Education for the establishment of a Geospatial and Data Analytics.

GDA is a technology which utilizes GPS, location, sensors, social media, among others, to find trends in complex relationship between people and places, website OmniScia said.

“Geospatial data analytics rely on geographic coordinates and specific identifiers such as street address and zip code,” the website explained.

“They are used to create geographic models and data visualizations for more accurate modeling and prediction of trends,” it added.

CHED will provide SLSU with resources and will monitor the university’s implementation of the project.

The project is set to be completed in two years.

Officials from both institutions met on Tuesday for the signing of the agreement.
