SAMAR STATE U STUDENTS TO RECEIVE FACE MASKS, FACE SHIELDS

/ 23 April 2021

THE SAMAR State University announced on Wednesday that each of its students and their families will receive four sets of face masks and face shields.

It said that 26,750 face masks and 33,800 face shields were procured by the university as part of its P1.3-million project in line with its ‘SMARTER’ framework.

The masks and shields are university-designed and follow the technical specification requirements for face masks set by the Department of Science and Technology.

“These endeavors attain Goal 1 of the SSU Resilience and Business Continuity Strategic Plan amid Covid19 Pandemic, the SMARTER Way to which is to make safety, health, and well-being of SSU Personnel, students, and other stakeholders as top priority.” Dr. Marilyn Cardoso, SSU president, said.

SSU initially designed and produced face shields that were distributed to students. The project was funded by the Commission on Higher Education.
