RED CROSS SHUTS DOWN ISOLATION FACILITY IN ADAMSON UNIVERSITY

/ 28 September 2021

THE PHILIPPINE Red Cross will close its isolation facility in Adamson University-Ermita campus on September 28, 2021.

The closure comes after a month of operation, serving 46 Covid19 positive patients from Hospicio de San Jose since it opened on August 29, 2021.

Through the directive of Chairman and CEO Sen. Dick Gordon, PRC and Adamson University converted the dormitory into an isolation facility. This is to accommodate the call for help by Hospicio de San Jose Administrator Sr. Maria Socorro Evidente, DC.

Sister Evidente requested help from the humanitarian organization after more than 30 of the hospice’s staff and senior citizen tenants tested positive for Covid19.

“Ako ay nagpapasalamat sa Adamson University sa pakikipagtulungan sa Red Cross upang gawing isolation facility ang dormitory sa Adamson. With our partnership, we are able to cater Covid19 positive patients from Hospicio de San Jose, providing aid in times of emergencies,” he said.

The PRC said that it has served more than 3,650 individuals since it established isolation facilities across the country
