PUP STUDENT LAUNCHES DONATION DRIVE FOR LESS FORTUNATE ONES

/ 31 July 2020

A STUDENT of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines has launched an online donation drive reportedly to help less fortunate students deal with online classes.

Eugene Sunga, an incoming third year Journalism student, said that her advocacy is aimed at helping students not to be left behind amid the shift of the traditional classroom education to flexible learning.

“I am doing this share-a-blessing project to enable me to raise funds to buy even second hand cellphones and tablets for those needy ones,” said Sunga, noting that a number of students do not have the necessary gadgets for online classes.

Sunga stressed she’ll prioritize senior and junior high school students because those enrolled in college need more advanced equipment.

So far, she has already bought three mobile phones to be donated to students in need before classes start on August 24.
