PUP EYES LIMITED F2F CLASSES IN OCTOBER 2022

/ 7 January 2022

THE POLYTECHNIC University of the Philippines is considering holding limited face-to-face classes for all degree programs by October 2022, the Office of the Student Regent said.

Students had a dialogue with school officials to discuss the resumption of physical classes.

“A key aspect of the dialogue was to tailor fit the system and guidelines of the return to physical classes with respect to the individual and localized setups or concerns of branches and campuses,” PUP-OSR said.

“Part of the concerns affecting the planning of physical class resumption is the transportation of students especially those hailing from areas outside NCR, student and employee vaccination status, IATF guidelines, university retrofitting requirements, budget, and facility preparation,” it added.

To prepare for the gradual reopening of the campuses, the university need to procure health and safety equipment such as alcohol dispensers, temperature scanner, acrylic barriers, among others.

The data vaccination status of students and faculty members must also be consolidated.

Moreover, the administration will craft guidelines for dormitory lodging of students, university health protocols, and other academic policies.

“Other dialogues and discussions will be done to follow up on the consultations and status of the university’s preparations,” PUP-OSR said.

Since the pandemic started, PUP implemented a new learning scheme called the Flexible Technology – Enhanced Learning to enable students to choose their mode of learning depending on their resources.
