POLYTECHNIC  University of the Philippines – College of Communication students and faculty members paid tribute to its former student, Youtuber Emman Nimedez who has lost his battle with cancer.

The news about Nimedez’s passing rocked social media on Saturday morning after his girlfriend, Peachy Santos,  broke the news on Facebook.

“The pambansang Oppa” first revealed on his Youtube video in May that he had been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia.

Nimedez was rushed to the intensive care unit on August 14 due to kidney failure and blood complications before succumbing to the disease.

“Kaya masayang magturo sa PUP lalong-lalo na sa College of Communication dahil hindi mo alam na baka bukas, makalawa, sikat na ang estudyante mo. Hindi ko naging estudyante si Emman Nimedez pero siguradong inspirasyon siya para sa maraming iskolar ng bayan. Paalam, isko!,” said PUP-COC faculty Jeroma Papa Lucas.

“Naalala ko pa, kung paanong gusto ko talagang makita ka doon sa AVR. sabi ko kahit silip lang, kahit mahaba ang pila, kahit may klase ako, kaso puno na raw. you’ll be missed!” 3rd year journalism Mary Lou Destao said.

“Condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Emman Nimedez. The whole PUP community is mourning with you. Mamimiss ka naming lahat, Emman,” said PUP Icons, the resident modeling and advertising organization of PUP.

“Frankly speaking, mas masaya pa ang YouTube during his time. His vlogs and works will always be an inspiration to all cyber-celebrities of today and tomorrow,” shared graduating student Tep Nazario.

Nemedez didn’t finish his studies as he pursued his vlogging career.
