PUP CAF ASKED TO LOWER PASSING GRADE FOR ACCOUNTACY

/ 4 August 2022

STUDENTS of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines’ College of Accountancy and Finance sought the lowering of the passing grade to help students graduate.

Students made the plea after a huge number of accountancy students across the PUP system failed to meet the required grades, preventing them from graduating.

In a meeting with the students, the chairperson of the Department of Accountancy and CAF Dean defended the school’s policy.

“Sana hindi ninyo makita itong evaluation subject pang-restrict sa inyo grumaduate. These integrated subjects deal with your future endeavors in the board exams,” Chairperson Prof. Noel Bergonia said.

Using the #LetCAFStudentsGraduate, #LowerPassingRate, and #LetCAFStudentsBeHeard, other netizens aired their support for the students and said that they deserve better treatment from the college.

Only a third of the 969 accountancy students across the PUP system is expected to graduate with the original requirements.
