TO OBSERVE Fire Prevention Month, the Polytechnic University of the Philippines signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ang Bumbero ng Pilipinas to promote cooperation in firefighting and disaster relief efforts.

Dr. Anna Ruby Gapasin, PUP’s vice president for Research, Extension and Development and ABP President Leninsky Bacud signed the MOU.

Under the MOU, ABP agreed to conduct fire and disaster management drills and seminars among PUP students, faculty and administrative personnel at least twice a year.

“This is to help educate the PUP community of standard safety measures, policies, systems and programs about fire and rescue,” the university said.

PUP pledged to provide professional growth, human development and educational interventions among ABP firefighters and rescue workers to ensure their growth and positive well-being.

PUP and ABP’s partnership will continue until 2024.
