PLM TO START CLASSES ‘PANDEMIC OR NOT’

/ 13 August 2020

PAMANTASAN ng Lungsod ng Maynila said classes will start as scheduled ‘pandemic or not’.

The Office of the PLM President stressed this after its Supreme Student Council urged that school opening be moved, citing findings that the students are ‘unequipped’  for online classes.

PLM’s stand is in line with Education Sec. Leonor Briones’ earlier statement  that education must continue ‘whatever form it is’.

In a statement,  PLM’s Supreme Student Council said the school is ‘unprepared’ for the new normal scheme of education and should not settle for a compromise.

“Let us not start the academic year unprepared in delivering quality education and services for the entire PLM community,“ the council said.

PLM , however, assured to deliver quality education and stressed that it has ‘tirelessly  prepared’ for the opening of classes.

“The coming school year will surely not be perfect, but PLM will do its best to deliver quality, relevant and enriching learning experiences worthy of the PLM brand of quality education for the public interest,” PLM stated.

Professors have held a simulation for online classes using ‘Kahoot!’  and added that they are also considering Microsoft Teams or Zoom.

PLM will use flexible learning activities for the new school year which will start on September 3.
