PLM SUSPENDS RETENTION POLICY

/ 11 March 2021

THE PAMANTASAN ng Lungsod ng Maynila suspended its retention policy for the first semester of Academic Year 2020-2021, University President Emmanuel Leyco said.

“The suspension was approved by PLM Board of Regents upon the recommendation by the university management and the Council of Deans,” Leyco said in a Facebook post.

“The PLM Board of Regents has also allowed students to file a Leave of Absence within the semester prior to the final examination week,” he added.

Citing the PLM Student Handbook, university and college-specific retention policies determine the qualification of students to remain in their respective programs according to their general weighted average.

Leyco said the suspension is the university’s response to the challenges experienced by students in online learning platforms.

He added that the LOA period will not be counted towards the maximum residency requirement of the university.
