/ 15 October 2022

THE PAMANTASAN ng Lungsod ng Maynila has started discussions on academic cooperation and research with the National Cheng Kung University of Taiwan.

A delegation of the NCKU visited the PLM campus earlier this week to discuss knowledge exchange between the two universities.

Professors from NCKU presented their English-taught programs to PLM professors and officials.

In turn, PLM college deans presented the academic programs that each unit offers to undergraduate students.

The PLM said that the discussions aim to initiate possible research collaborations among professors, develop cross-border programs for student research, internships and student exchange between the two institutions.

“The PLM community is humbled by and grateful for NCKU’s interest to explore possible linkages with our University. Welcome to the Philippines!,” PLM President Emmanuel Leyco said.

“We look forward to future partnerships. I believe it would be beneficial for both academic institutions to collaborate on academics and research, as it would lead to advancement of knowledge and a more holistic learning experience for our students,” he added.

PLM Regent Jose Ngaw said that the university is looking forward to a fruitful partnership with the NCKU, which is among the top universities in Taiwan.

The NCKU delegation was led by its Associate Vice President for International Affairs Prof. Li Yueh-Heng, Associate Vice President for International Affairs and Distinguished Professor Chen Tzong-Yueh, Professor Lu Tsung-Hsueh, Associate Professor Wu Chih-Yung, Assistant Professor Yu Sheng-Sheng, Dr. Ymir Mendoza Garcia and Manager Gina Lee.
