PLM SEEKS MORE FREE INTERNET ACCESS FOR STUDENTS

/ 19 September 2020

PAMANTASAN ng Lungsod ng Maynila President Emmanuel Leyco has called for wider free internet access to ensure that more students would have connectivity when schools open next month.

“We reiterate our call for free internet in more areas to ensure that no Filipino is left behind,” Leyco said in a statement.

He also appealed to authorities to ensure fast and reliable internet connectivity to support the education and livelihood of Filipinos.

He pointed out that internet service has become a necessity now that classes will be conducted online.

“Internet connectivity is now an important utility like electricity and water. Households, businesses, and students count heavily on good network services to get their tasks done,” he added.

The PLM has conducted dry-runs for teachers and students to ensure that no problem will be encountered when classes start on October 5.
