PILAR COLLEGE OF ZAMBOANGA

Four months after the abrupt halt of classes and graduation rites, Pilar College of Zamboanga City (PCZC) opens its doors through virtual sessions and a new learning system under the looming presence of the pandemic.

The institution is set to operate under the new Blended Teaching-Learning Process Modality to ensure a safe and flexible environment in compliance with the Department of Education and the local government’s directives.

According to the PCZC, they have redesigned their policies, procedures, strategies, and redefined job descriptions considering all the areas of operations of the institution.

Students are divided into three categories based on their connectivity and other learning conditions under the new distanced learning modality, to address the students’ individual situations. Meanwhile, teachers go through the essential IT training and are provided with equipment in preparation for the academic year. The PCZC assures the public that there will be no face-to-face interaction among the students.

Pilar College prides itself as one of the oldest educational institutions in Zamboanga City, founded by the Sisters of the Religious of the Virgin Mary (RVM) in 1894.
