PANGASINAN STATE U TO OFFER BS TOURISM

/ 16 March 2021

THE PANGASINAN State University plans to open a new course — Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management — in its Alaminos and Lingayen campuses.

PSU President Dexter Buted said the initiative aims to help kickstart the ailing tourism industry.

“The tourism sector is among the most severely affected industries by the Covid19 pandemic in the Philippine economy and in most parts of the world. Flights and hotel bookings were cancelled and national borders were closed to arrest the spread of said disease,” PSU said on Facebook.

“As one way of supporting Philippine tourism by producing capable and globally competitive graduates, University President Dr. Dexter R. Buted proposed the offering of Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management in two campuses,” it added.

The university plans to offer the course starting school year 2022-2023.

Officials from the Alaminos City and Lingayen campuses met to discuss the necessary requirements for the program.

A technical working group was formed to tackle issues regarding the new program.
