THE PANGASINAN State University participated in the forum on geological hazards organized by the Department of Science and Technology.

University President Dr. Elbert Galas co-hosted the event.

Also present at the “Alerto! Rehiyon Uno – forum” was DOST Secretary Renato U. Solidum Jr.

DOST Undersecretary Teodoro Gatchalian and Regional Director Teresita Tabaog also attended the forum, as well as district representatives, regional directors and local chief executives.

Pangasinan Governor Ramon “Mon-Mon” Guico III was represented by Special Assistant Von Mark Mendoza.

“Good disaster risk governance can be measured by lives saved, fewer people affected and reduced economic losses. We need to ensure that disaster risk reduction is considered as crucial strategy to protect the local economy as the game progresses. For me, wealth protection will yield economic development,” Solidum, the keynote speaker, said.

He cited PSU’s significant contributions to innovation and community engagement, particularly those under the DOST program.
