PANGASINAN BARANGAY OPENS INTERNET HUB FOR STUDENTS

/ 6 November 2020

A barangay internet hub that caters to students was recently launched in Bautista, Pangasinan.

Barangay Captain Johnny Junio of Nabaliw Sur said that the internet hub is located at the conference room of the Barangay Hall. It has cubicles in compliance with the physical distancing requirement.

Barangay officials said that strict health protocols are followed to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease.

They added that since its opening, the internet hub has been used by students from the Pangasinan State University and other schools.

Aside from providing free internet,  the hub also gives free face masks, face shields and note-books to students.

The barangay initiative was lauded by students and educators alike.

“Online classes are being viewed as one of the critical resources of learning that students could avail during the persisting Covid19 pandemic,” Dr. Liza Quimson, Campus Executive Director of PSU Bayambang, said.

“Thank you to the initiative of our stakeholders and partners such as Brgy. Capt. Junio, our learners will be motivated to keep doing their best despite the current situation in our education,” she added.
