PALAWAN STATE UNIVERSITY LAUNCHES DONATION DRIVE
THE PALAWAN State University-School of Law has launched a donation drive for victims of Typhoon Ulysses.
Dubbed as “PaLAWan Cares”, the donation drive was in support of the campaign initiated by the Association of Law Students in the Philippines.
Jade Elan Zulueta, president of the PSU-Law Student Government, said that the group heeded the appeal for help of those who were hard-hit by Typhoon Ulysses which unleashed record floods.
“Many Filipinos are in need of immediate help and assistance. A lot of people especially in areas directly hit by the calamities suffered so much devastation—houses are flooded, people are starving,” Zulueta said.
Christian Jade De Vera, one of the proponents of the project, said that the donation drive aimed to collect donations as low as P20.
“We’re all students so we didn’t expect much, kaya when we received support from the community, we were overwhelmed with gratitude na ang daming gustong tumulong. This proves na maraming Palaweño, especially students, have good big hearts,” De Vera said.
