NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY APPROVES ACADEMIC BREAK

/ 11 November 2021

THE NORTHWESTERN University has approved a three-day academic break to give students and teachers a short breather.

NU President Atty. Ferdinand Nicolas announced the break that will be from November 18 to 20.

“Please be informed that I received your request for an academic break just this morning at 5 a.m. I am approving this academic break with a slight modification moving it to November 18, 19, and 20,” he said.

The break, Nicolas said, will provide faculty members and departments sufficient time to adjust their calendars and activities, particularly live events previously scheduled, preparations for the midterm examinations, and other activities.

“We recognize the need for these breaks to provide times of rest to recuperate and manage stress levels. However, we hope that future requests be made well in advance of the intended break so that we can prepare for any adjustments that may be necessary,” he said.

Nicolas reminded students to enjoy their academic break and ensure their safety amid pandemic.
