/ 13 October 2020

THE NORTHEASTERN  Mindanao Colleges in Surigao del Norte warned its students not to entertain fixers who offer to help them get their exam permits.

The school said that the scammer is using the name of one of its professors to make students send money through Gcash.

NEMCO said that it is coordinating with authorities to stop the scam.

It added that e-permits are exclusively issued through its Flare or Flexible Learning Access for Relevant Education application. Any transactions conducted outside the app is invalid and unofficial.

“Once the payment has been made, the student will be asked to upload the proof of payment. Once verified, a notification from NEMCO will be sent to the registered mobile number and the E permit will be shown in the student’s FLARE account (QR code format),” NEMCO said on Facebook.

The school will have its preliminary examination on October 14 to 16. Students are required to pay at least P1,000 for exam permits.
