NEW UP FACULTY REGENT TAKES OATH
ASSOCIATE Professor Carl Marc Ramota was sworn in as the 27th Faculty Regent of the University of the Philippines.
Ramota took his oath last January 4.
He will serve as the representative of over 4,000 UP teachers in the Board of Regents until December 31, 2024.
Ramota was the chairperson of the Department of Social Sciences, College of Arts and Sciences at UP Manila from 2010-2013 and coordinator of its political science program from 2008-2014.
As regent, his goals include the review and revision of policies affecting the employment and academic work of the faculty, promotion of the well-being of the faculty and address employment problems.
Ramota urged the faculty to be active in making decisions and support campaigns to protect academic and civil freedom.
