/ 9 February 2025

STUDENTS from the Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology presented their research at the 47th Annual Federation of ASEAN Economic Associations Conference.

Representing MSU-IIT were Kylla Rejiel M. Bag-ao from the BSBA Business Economics program and Dina Jane L. Pasilona from the BS Economics program. They were accompanied by their research adviser, Asst. Prof. Resa Mae C. Laygan.

Bag-ao presented a study titled “An Analysis of the Influence of Eco-Innovation on Climate Change Risk in Asia and Europe,” while Pasilona showcased their paper on “A Cross-Country Analysis of the Effects of Digitalization on Money Laundering.”

Both papers were co-authored by MSU-IIT faculty and student researchers.

“As Pasilona and Bag-ao return to MSU-IIT, they bring not only recognition for their research but also a wealth of knowledge and inspiration to share with their peers,” the university stated.

“Their achievement is a testament to the potential of young minds to make a significant impact in the field of economics,” it added.

The conference was held at the Emerald Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand, last month and was organized by the Economic Society of Thailand. It brought together leading economists, scholars, and policymakers to discuss pressing economic issues in the ASEAN region.
