THE MARINDUQUE  State College on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Department of Science and Technology to explore solar energy as an alternative power source for science establishments in the region.

The project “Solar Energy System as an Alternative Source of Electricity for DOST MIMAROPA’s Provincial Science and Technology Centers and Marinduque State College”  will be spearheaded by the MSC’s Electrical Engineering Department, the school said on Facebook.

The project will begin one year after the release of funds from the DOST, the school said.

“The project will be implemented for one year effective immediately after the release of funds. MSC as technical agency shall lead the selected SUCs in MIMAROPA and will handle the over-all installation and maintenance of the back up Solar Energy System in each PSTC Building of DOST-MIMAROPA,” the school said.
