THE MARIANO Marcos State University will have its own transmitter of the People’s Television or PTV station, “to keep Ilocanos informed and empowered.”

The tower or transmitter will rise in a 500-meter lot inside the university grounds.

With the project, MMSU will have 30 minutes of airtime at the station in the region’s broadcasting range to feature its technologies and innovations.

A total of 400,000 residents in Ilocos Norte are expected to benefit from the project, as well as those in Ilocos Sur, Abra and Apayao.

“It will broadcast relevant information and updates about national and regional development projects, especially highlighting that of Ilocos Norte,” MMSU said.

A groundbreaking ceremony for the project was conducted on Tuesday in Barangay Quiling Sur, Batac, which was attended by officials of MMSU, PTV and the provincial government.
