MARIANO MARCOS STATE U PARTNERS WITH LGUs FOR LEARNING HUBS

/ 12 October 2020

THE MARIANO Marcos State University partnered with eight Ilocos Norte municipalities to make local learning spaces for students amid the Covid19 pandemic.

The project dubbed ‘MMSU-LGU-TELCO Convergence for Virtual Learning Project’ will grant 4,249 students free usage of computers, printers and internet connection to help students with their education in the ‘new normal’ setup.

The partnership was signed by MMSU President Shirley Agrupis and the executives of Badoc, Currimao, Dumalneg, Pagudpud, Piddig, San Nicolas, Solsona, and Batac municipalities of Ilocos Norte at the school’s function hall on Wednesday last week.

The Ilocos Norte-based school also said it initiated donation drives to gather funds to buy gadgets and portable WiFi for indigent students.

The school also launched its Oplan Sappuyot program where its employees donated a day’s worth of their salary to help poor students.

Meanwhile, classes in MMSU started last August 24, using a flexible learning scheme.
