LAW STUDENTS FROM UP AND SAN BEDA SHINE IN ASIAN MOOT COURT TILTS

LAW students from the University of the Philippines ranked fifth overall in the 2022 Asia Cup International Moot Court Competition.

The team composed of Ma. Beynouna Meg Arbo, Esabelle Gillian Catameo, Jet Ryan Nicolas and Jasmin Althea Siscar competed against over 30 participating teams in 10 Asian countries.

The students were mentored by Professor Neil Silva who served as coach, and Professor Rommel Casis, who served as faculty adviser.

Co-organized by the Japanese Society of International Law and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, the event was held virtually on August 23-25, 2022.

Meanwhile, Law students at San Beda College qualified for the 2022 Global Rounds of Foreign Direct Investment Moot Court Competition.

The team members include Cedrick Cabaluna, Madelene de Borja, Camille Flores, Josh Gadot, Hannah Makilan, Aran Mendoza and Iyah Sevilla.

They also bagged the fifth overall best team in the Asia Pacific FDI Moot 2022 Regional Rounds.

Atty. Junmar Denila served as the student’s adviser while Atty. Jecko Guerrero Bello, Atty. Jean Galvez, Atty. Zoilo Velasco, Atty. Mitzie Castro and Ferdinand Dasas served as their coaches.
