/ 24 June 2021

THE DEPARTMENT of Science and Technology turned over laboratory equipment to the Kalinga State University.

The school received micropipette, fat analyzer, benchtop ph meter, pipettor, burette, pycnometer with a thermometer, glass funnel, separatory funnel, circulating water bath, oven binder, aluminum dish, desiccator with accessories and desiccant, and bottle top burette.

These will be used to analyze samples of food and non-food products.

The Philippine Information Agency said in a report that the grant is part of the department’s project to help KSU “perform a preliminary test on food and non-food products prior to their commercialization and mass production.”

This is in line with the DOST’s project dubbed “Enhancing Industry Competitiveness through Strengthening the Services of KSU-CSL.”

KSU President Eduardo Bagtang promised to use the equipment for the benefit of the Cordillera people.
