KALINGA STATE U AIMS TO ESTABLISH COLLEGE OF MEDICINE

/ 12 March 2022

THE KALINGA State University is laying the groundwork for the establishment of its College of Medicine to help produce new healthcare professionals in the country.

The Philippine News Agency reported that KSU President Dr. Eduardo Bagtang has created a task force that will handle all matters pertaining to the project.

The group will study the opening of a medicine program in the university, as well as benchmarking activities with other institutions.

Bagtang said that while there are doctors willing to teach and a lot of prospective students, they cannot offer a medical program because the school lacks one requirement.

Commission on Higher Education Chairperson Prospero De Vera III had said that KSU should have a level three hospital in the area to help the school in opening its medical college.
