MANILA Mayor Francisco ‘Isko Moreno’ Domagoso approved the release of cash grants for students of the Unibersidad de Manila.

Domagoso and  Manila Vice Mayor Maria Sheilah Honey’ Lacuna-Pangan signed the release of allowances for the months of April and May.

Under the city’s Social Amelioration Program, 8,336 UDM students will receive financial assistance.

Domagoso said that each student will receive P2,000.

Through Ordinance 8568 and 8564, the city’s Social Amelioration Program grants a monthly allowance of P1,000 for qualified students of the UDM and Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, and P500 for qualified senior high school students.

To qualify, the students must be residents and registered voters (or children of registered voters) of the city. Senior high school students should also have good academic standing to be eligible for the monthly allowance.
