FIRST LADY JOINS WVSU COLLEGE OF LAW FACULTY

/ 7 August 2022

FIRST Lady Louise Araneta Marcos is set to teach at the Western Visayas State University College of Law

University president Dr. Joselito Villaruiz confirmed the development in an interview with Panay News, saying Marcos chose WVSU since it is located in her father’s hometown in Jaro, Leyte.

He stressed Marcos was not recruited but rather applied for the position and was accepted based on her qualifications.

The first lady earned her law degree at the Ateneo de Manila University and taught law for 20 years as she related in an interview with Boy Abunda last March.

Marcos was noted for teaching in several law schools across the country, including Far Eastern University, Mariano Marcos State University, Northwestern University, and Pamantasang Lungsod ng Maynila, among others.

The inclusion of Marcos in the university roster of teachers gained negative reactions given the political climate in the Visayas, where former Vice President Leni Robredo won, according to Villaruiz.
