FEU-NRMF NAMED AS SOLE TOP PERFORMING SCHOOL IN 2020 PLE

/ 4 October 2020

THE FAR Eastern University-Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation was named as the only top performing school in the recently concluded March and September 2020 Physician Licensure Examination.

The Professional Regulation Commission announced on October 2 that 800 out of 1,421 medicine graduates passed this year’s board exam, translating to 56.75 percent national passing rate.

According to PRC, FEU-NMRF posted an average of 91.6 percent passing rate or 109 out of 119 candidates passed the examinations.

To be declared as a top performing school, PRC said universities must have 50 or more examinees with at least 80 percent overall passing percentage.

In the last four years, the university was also hailed as the top performing school as it had an overall school performance rate of 88.20 percent in March 2017, 89.29 percent in March 2018, and 97.96 percent in March 2019 board exams.

The first part of this year’s PLE was held in March, while the second part was allowed in September by the Inter-Agency Task Force due to the demand for additional physicians amid the Covid19 pandemic.
