EX-DAVAO ORIENTAL STATE U HEAD SEEKS SAFE SPACES FOR WOMEN

/ 9 March 2021

IN OBSERVANCE of International Women’s Day on Monday, the former president and president emeritus of the Davao Oriental State University called for the creation of safe spaces for women.

Dr. Edito Sumile said women are God’s greatest gift and must be respected.

“We all have great women in our lives. Our mothers, sisters, wives, and daughters are God’s greatest gifts to humanity. No matter what roles they play in our lives, they all deserve our unconditional love, care, respect, and admiration,” Sumile said.

His statement was posted on the official Facebook page of the university.

“Let us help create safe spaces for them through our proactive efforts and initiatives for gender and development,” he added.

The university prepared a series of activities to celebrate Women’s Month.
