/ 31 March 2021

THE TARLAC State University appealed to its constituents to refrain from using the university’s logo for comedic acts.

The university issued the call after some students used the TSU logo in a meme announcing the suspension of classes.

TSU said it consulted its Technology Development, Transfer and Commercialization Office and Student Discipline Unit regarding the incident.

The university said that those who would like to use its logo must first send a written request as it is bound by the University Trademark Policy.

Violators will be dealt with in accordance with the TSU Student Handbook.

“At all times, every [TSU] student must promote and maintain the peace and tranquility of the University by observing the rules of discipline, and by exerting efforts to attain harmonious relationships with fellow students, the teaching and academic staff, and other school personnel (Part I, Chapter 3, Section 2, par. 6 of the Student Manual),” TSU said on Facebook.

Meanwhile, TSU suspended classes and office work from April 1 to 3, 2021 in observance of the Holy Week.
