DLSU STUDENT WINS IN INT’L TAX COMPETITION

/ 28 February 2022

A STUDENT from the De La Salle University placed third in the 2021 Ernst & Young Tax Professional of the Year Competition held in Dubai on February 20 to 23.

Accounting major Henrico Gustav Mikhail Sanchez competed against other participants from 62 countries.

“Of the forty-three finalists representing 62 countries, the top 10 were selected to compete in the final in Dubai, and the three winners were chosen,” the university wrote on Facebook.

The competition is one of EY Tax’s annual flagship events and is designed to recognize as well as nurture the generation of tax leaders.

This year’s theme was sustainability, with a focus on how tax can help to incentivize sustainability across the business world.

Finalists presented their ideas to a panel of judges, including various EY leaders and Clodagh Power from the OECD’s Centre for Tax.
