DLSU DASMA DANCE COMPANY SHINES IN GLOBAL DANCE FESTIVAL
THE De La Salle Dasmariñas’ dance company bagged several awards in the International Dance Organization World Dance Festival 2023 held in South Korea.
The La Salle Filipiniana Dance Company clinched first place in the Folk Dance Duo Category, Folk Dance Group Category, and Folk Dance Formation Category.
“It’s not just about winning or losing, but to learn about teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline and patience,” said LSFDC trainer Nina Ricci de Leon.
“The value of working together for a common goal. Focusing on the basics, not just the competition or event,” she added.
The IDO World Dance Festival 2023 was held at the Aram Nuri Opera Hall and the Gyeonggi Mirae Campus from August 4-6.
Competitions among major dance groups were held for ballet, modern and contemporary, jazz dance, folklore, tap dance, and martial arts performance for solo, duo, group, and formation categories.
The participants also attended a one-day lesson on different dance forms, and joined a city tour of the National Folk Museum, DMZ, Geyongbokgung Palace, and Meyongdong Shopping District on their final day.
