DAVAO COLLEGE GETS DTI RECOGNITION FOR ADVANCING THE COFFEE INDUSTRY

THE DEPARTMENT of Trade and Industry lauded the Davao Del Sur State College for its contributions in promoting the coffee industry in the province.

The DTI presented a plaque of recognition to the school during the Investment and Entrepreneurial Forum for Coffee held in Digos City last Thursday.

“The DTI awarded a recognition of appreciation to DSSC as one of the champion partner institutions in the advancement of the coffee industry in Davao del Sur,” DSSC said on Facebook.

“DSSC runs the Coffee Cupping Laboratory which serves the coffee farmers of Davao del Sur and nearby places. It also conducts research efforts on various varieties of coffee in Kapatagan, Digos City,” it added.

University President Augie Fuentes and Regie Patagoc, one of DDSC’s resident coffee experts, attended the coffee forum.

Other coffee experts such as TJ Ryan of PhilCAFE, Cherry Cruz of the Equilibrium Intertrade Corporation, Alma Monica Dela Paz of Kapwa Upliftment Foundation, Regie Patagoc, from DSSC, and Marivic Dubria from Bacofa were also present and discussed various aspects of the coffee industry.
