CHED STANCE ON FLEXIBLE LEARNING GAINING GROUND ON MORE SCHOOLS

/ 6 June 2021

MORE schools are supporting the stance of Commission on Higher Education Chairman Prospero de Vera with regards to preserving flexible learning.

Occidental Mindoro State College, Palawan State University, University of Antique, Mariano Marcos State University, University of Eastern Philippines, and Northern Iloilo State Polytechnic State College are some of the schools that expressed support on the new method of teaching under the new normal.

The schools noted that flexible learning is the answer to continue education amid the Covid19 pandemic.

De Vera earlier urged schools to spread the ‘good word that “flexible learning is the way to go,”  since classrooms have yet to be remodeled to fit the new normal standards.

The CHED official added the policy will continue and that “there is no going back to the old paradigm,” a stand which was criticized by netizens on social media.

De Vera then clarified that students will go back to face-to-face classes once it is assured the classroom setup will be safe from the virus.
