/ 25 June 2021

THE COMMISSION on Higher Education has approved the two new courses of the University of Antique.

A document posted on social media revealed that CHED granted Government Recognition to UA for its Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation and Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering.

UA can offer the two courses for its College of Maritime Studies starting School Year 2021-2022.

UA President Pablo Crespo, Jr. said that the two courses were initially recommended for closure in 2013 for not passing the requirements of regulatory bodies.

“However, we did not waiver in our resolve. I took it as a personal struggle to make sure we return to the offering of our Maritime Programs,” Crespo said on Facebook.

“We made the house ready. We have procured [state-of-the-art] equipment, hired qualified faculty and satisfy all the requirements. It was not easy but worth it! Salamat sa tanan nga nag suporta- Our Board of Regents, our LGU, our Administration, our Faculty, our parents our alumni!” he added.
