CEU GRADUATE GETS 2022 ASCP 40 UNDER 40 PROGRAM AWARD
AN alumnus of the Centro Escolar University School of Medical Technology recently received the 2022 American Society for Clinical Pathology 40 Under 40 Program Award.
Paolo Miguel Ata was recognized for being one of the brightest emerging leaders and innovators in the field of laboratory medicine.
During this year’s ASCP’s Centennial Celebration, forty pathologists, pathology residents and laboratory professionals under the age of 40 are honored for professional excellence.
“I am proud to have been a student of the CEU School of Medical Technology. The education I’ve obtained from the program very much helped me as a laboratory professional,” Ata said.
The school said that Ata’s leadership made an impact on the field of laboratory medicine.
His role in the laboratory gives him the opportunity to improve best practices, update policies and procedures to current accreditation standards, and be involved in method performance verifications, and monitor quality indicators for process improvement, it added.
Presently, Ata serves as Laboratory Quality Coordinator at the Community Medical Center in Toms River, as well as an adjunct professor for the Medical Laboratory Technologist program at Mercer County Community College, both in New Jersey, United States of America.
He was introduced to the laboratory profession while serving as a Medical Laboratory Specialist in the US Army.
Moreover, he completed his Master of Science in Business Administration in Healthcare Management at Western Governors University, USA.
Ata also holds an Associate degree in Science from George Washington University and a certificate in Health Science Clinical Laboratory Technology. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology at CEU in 2011.
