CENTRAL LUZON STATE U PROF NAMED 2022 OUTSTANDING CHEMICAL ENGINEER

A PROFESSOR from the Central Luzon State University was the recipient of this year’s Outstanding Chemical Engineer-Atty. Rosendo & Luz Tansinsin Award for Research and Development during the 83rd Philippine Institute of Chemical Engineers National Convention.

Dr. Juvy Monserate was chosen for his work which includes nano-structured alcohol, hand sanitizer and nano-filter masks with synthesized nanoparticles.

These inventions helped health frontliners in fighting Covid19 in the country, the CLSU said.

Monserate is the head of the Nanotechnology R&D Facility and a professor at the Department of Chemistry.

He is also a registered chemical engineer who focuses on Science and Nanotechnology which includes Biomedicine, Food, Agriculture, Energy and Environment.

The PIChe convention brings together more than a thousand Filipino chemical engineers and other stakeholders from the industry, government and academe across the country and abroad.
