CENTRAL LUZON STATE U PARTNERS WITH JAPANESE SCHOOL TO CONDUCT FIELDWORK ON BANANA PROJECT

JAPANESE professors visited the Central Luzon State University in Muñoz, Nueva Ecija to undertake fieldwork on banana and cacao disease management project.

The CLSU’s Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs said Dr. Kyoko Watanabe and Dr. Koji Ishikawa of Tamagawa University met with CLSU President Edgar Orden.

The Japan International Cooperation Agency supported the BaCaDM project. It is a five-year collaborative research initiative between CLSU and Tamagawa University.

Garcia said that the project aims to create and promote a technology system that will assist farmers in combating major banana and cacao diseases.

Watanabe and Ishikawa traveled to Aurora province with the CLSU project team to meet with banana and cocoa farmers and collect field samples.
