CEBU TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY GETS 3-STAR RATING IN QS RANKING
THE CEBU Technological University made history by becoming the first school in the province to get three stars from the Quacquarelli Symonds, a London-based independent compiler of the World University Rankings.
“A year after the Commission on Higher Education’s announcement on CTU’s being one of the grantees of the ‘Fostering World Class Philippines Universities Project’ in June 2019, the university geared up for evaluation by the QS Intelligence Unit,” CTU said.
The QS Stars system rated CTU on performance indicators grouped into seven categories: teaching, employability, academic development, online learning, social responsibility, inclusiveness and program strength.
According to the agency’s definition, a three-star university is nationally recognized and may have begun to earn global acknowledgment. Also, its graduates are appealing to employers.
The university got five stars in employability, inclusiveness and social responsibility. These indicators were enough to pull up CTU’s overall performance to three stars equivalent to 400 points.
“Collective effort for QS evaluation began before the pandemic, and the result justified the university’s trajectory consistent with the government’s mandate for quality education,” the school said.
