CARLOS HILADO MEMORIAL STATE COLLEGE NOW A STATE UNIVERSITY

/ 21 April 2022

THE CARLOS Hilado Memorial State College in Negros Occidental has been converted into a state university, Bacolod Rep. Greg Gasataya said.

The Commission on Higher Education gave the certification after the school complied with the requirements.

Gasataya, former Congressmen Alfredo Benitez (Negros Occidental third district) and Alejandro Mirasol (fifth district) authored the bill that was signed into law in 2019.

CHMSU’s main campus is in Talisay City. It has a satellite campus in Binalbagan.

Gasataya said that the school’s conversion into a state university means that it will be given more funding, it can accept more students and offer more programs.

It will also be given more budget to improve its facilities and conduct research.
