CAGAYAN STATE U DENOUNCES ESCUDERO’S APPOINTMENT OF UNQUALIFIED PROXY

/ 12 August 2022

THE CAGAYAN State University slammed the move of the office of Sen. Francis Escudero to place an “unqualified” proxy to sit as a board member.

The Office of the President said that it received news that Archimedes Articulo will be Escudero’s representative at the university.

Articulo was the former executive director of CSU’s Carig Campus.

The university said that Articulo was found guilty of gross dishonesty and grave misconduct, which he appealed before the Supreme Court.

“When he and his co-respondents were ordered dismissed from the service for gross dishonesty and grave misconduct, the ancillary penalties of perpetual disqualification from public office, cancelation of all eligibility, and forfeiture of all benefits were likewise meted on them,” CSU said in a statement on Facebook.

“They lost all their appeals. The judgment of dismissal against Articulo and companions has long become final. It is therefore legally untenable for him to be designated as a member of the Board of Regents,” it added.
