/ 9 June 2021

THE BULACAN State University held groundbreaking rites for its new resource management building that will soon rise in its Malolos campus.

Present during the ceremony were Senator Joel Villanueva, Bulacan Governor Daniel Fernando, Malolos City Mayor Gilbert Gatchalian, BulSU President Cecilia Navasero-Gascon, Executive Vice President Dr. Teody San Andres and BulSU Vice President for Administration and Finance Dr. Jaime Pulumbarit.

Gascon said the project will take up 6,536.87 square meters of the 25-hectare lot owned by the school in Barangay Guinhawa.

“The building is a five-story level concrete structure that will accommodate the BulSU administration personnel, which include the executive officer. The building is sustainably designed with solar electrical features and open passive cooling system,” the BulSU president said.

“The P324-million fund for the construction of the building came from the 2021-2023 General Appropriations Act which was sponsored by Senator Villanueva,” she added.

The project pleased Villanueva, who expressed hope that BulSU will produce renowned graduates in the future.

“Ako ay nagagalak because the men and women of our state university ay nagkakaisa sa isang proyekto that is bigger than us. Because of the Doctor para sa Bayan Law, the BulSU will have a College of Medicine in 2022,” Villanueva said.
