BPSU SOON TO HAVE OWN SCHOOL OF MEDICINE

/ 15 December 2021

THE BATAAN Peninsula State University will soon have a school of medicine, Bataan Governor Albert Garcia said.

In a report by 1Bataan, Garcia said that the initiative is for the creation of more homegrown doctors to address the medical needs of the province.

The governor added that the province aims to have a lot of doctors to have the highest human development index.

He revealed that he talked with Senator Joel Villanueva when the latter visited the province last week for an additional budget to add more school of medicines in the country.

“Ngayong pandemic ay nakita ang kahalagahan ng healthcare, mga doktor, nurses, kaya we need to produce more in the medical field,” Garcia said as posted on the 1Bataan website.

Villanueva authored the Doktor Para sa Bayan Act which aims to reinforce the health sector by funding the creation of medical schools and colleges and scholarship grants, among others.
