/ 11 March 2022

THE BICOL State College of Applied Sciences and Technology will soon reopen its laboratory high school.

BISCAST said that the move aims to boost its academic structure which is aligned with the “21st-century Philippine education framework.”

It is also in line with the transition of the college into a full-fledged university under Republic Act 11585.

BISCAST will soon change its name into Southeast Asian University of Technology.

“The laboratory high school will serve as a venue for both strengthening the competencies in Mathematics, Science and Technology, Information Communication & Technology, innovation and creativity of students and the pre-service teachers,” the school said.

“[It] will also serve as the feeder program to engineering and architecture programs, engineering technology, arts, and sciences undergraduate programs of the College,” it added.

Once reopened, the high school will follow the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics curriculum.
