BILIRAN PROVINCE STATE U TO HOLD FACE-TO-FACE CLASSES

/ 10 December 2021

THE BILIRAN Province State University will kick off limited face-to-face classes on Monday, December 13.

The university secured the approval of the Commission on Higher Education, Department of Health, Inter-Agency Task Force Against Covid19, and the provincial government of Biliran to conduct physical classes.

It said that 3rd and 4th year nursing students will be the first to return to their classrooms. Students taking other courses with laboratory programs will be allowed back in January 2022.

The university will also implement a weekly cyclical schedule of classes beginning March 2022.

The government requires schools that want to hold in-person classes to have a high vaccination rate, retrofitted classrooms, and approval from the concerned local government unit.

The Commission on Higher Education earlier said that higher educational institutions no longer have to ask the agency’s permission to hold physical classes. Schools under Alert Levels 1, 2, and 3 can conduct limited face-to-face classes as long as they comply with the requirements.
