BICOL UNIVERSITY LIFTS SUSPENSION OF CLASSES

/ 20 April 2021

Classes and work in Bicol University resumed on Tuesday as the weather improved.

The university suspended classes on Monday because of the threat posed by Typhoon Bising.

“Due to improved weather condition, suspension of classes (synchronous and asynchronous) and work in all campuses in the University by virtue of Office Memoranda Nos. 66 and 67, series of 2021 respectively, are hereby lifted,” BU said on Facebook.

“All personnel reporting to work are further reminded to observe strict health protocol such as the wearing of face mask, wearing of face shield, maintaining social distancing, frequent washing of hands, and the use of alcohol/sanitizer to ensure safety of all concerned as well as to mitigate and/or stop the further spread of the Covid19,” it added.

Several students questioned the school’s decision to resume classes, noting that the effects of the typhoon can still be felt.

“Sure po ba kayo na lahat ng estudyante ng BU from all over BICOL, if I may emphasize, ay okay na to resume classes? ‘Di lang naman ata from legazpi ang students from BU di po ba?” one student said on Facebook.
